Portland Symphony Orchestra presents Strings KinderKonzerts: The Elements of Music

WINDHAM – The Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents a series of String KinderKonzerts: The Elements of Music on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Windham High School. There will be performances at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

What makes the string instruments different from the other instruments in the orchestra? Join the PSO String Quintet to learn about the different instruments in the string family, what makes them unique, and how they use melody, rhythm and harmony to make the music we love!

KinderKonzerts are designed to introduce children to live symphonic music through fun and interactive programs with PSO musicians. The series allows children to explore the different families of orchestral instruments, including brass, strings, woodwinds and percussion.

The concerts are 35 to 40 minutes in length and geared toward children ages three to seven. Tickets are priced at $4 per person. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.portlandsymphony.org or at the door on February 4. If you have any questions, please call (207) 773-6128 ext. 308 or email education@portlandsymphony.org. Reservations are required.
