Makeover Magic with Andrea Schmuck - By Michelle Libby

Andrea Schmuck hadn’t had her hair cut in over two years when she volunteered to get a makeover with The Windham Eagle.

“It was wonderful really,” Andrea said. “I definitely will go back and have her keep up with it.”

Andrea went to Raezors Salon & Spa for the royal treatment with RaeAnn Gordan, the owner of the salon. “We cut and colored her hair with Paul Mitchell 1-step color process to cover gray and make her hair blonde,” RaeAnn said.

Andrea’s hair was one length to the middle of her back and wavy, RaeAnn said. She cut it and added long layers so Andrea can still put it up.

“She was such a sweetheart,” said RaeAnn.

“Everyone I know was quite in shock over the change,” Andrea said. Ten years ago after the birth of her son, she cut her hair short and hasn’t had more than a trim since then. When she walked into daycare to pick up her son, he paused. “Wait, that’s not my mom,” he said.

Andrea has been married for 20 years to Robert. She has three children, two in their twenties and her 9-year-old Landon. “They were quite surprised,” she said.

Andrea is involved in Cub Scouts as a committee member and handles awards and achievements. She also is the Parent Teacher Association secretary.

In addition to working at WEX as a systems analyst, she also takes in exchange students for the whole school year. She already has plans to have one for next school year as well. The Schmuck’s have lived in Windham for five years.
