Royalty comes to Windham - Maine TOPS

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Windham is proud to have as its guest at its Tuesday weekly meeting, September 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., the 2013 Maine State Queen, Carol Roberge, who lost 182.75 pounds with TOPS. Queen Carol will be holding court at the North Windham Union Church, located at 723 Roosevelt Trail.

By December 2012, Carol had lost the most weight of all female members in Maine, to reach her KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) goal, and was crowned Maine State Queen in May 2013. To date, Carol has lost over 200 pounds, and is on her way to receiving her second 100 pound Century award.

Carol's story: "I heard about TOPS from a colleague at work. I'd tried everything and was convinced that nothing would work for me. After joining TOPS, I'd lose a few pounds and then gain some back. My chapter stayed behind me through gains and losses. I started losing gradually, and I won several chapter awards. That was very encouraging. I eventually lost 100 pounds and kept it off for more than a year. I was so proud. I just kept going and going until I reached my goal."

TOPS is a non-profit international organization, offering members support and education. There is no diet plan, no forbidden foods, no pills to take, and no special food to buy. If there is something you want to eat, just eat a sensible portion. Set small realistic goals. One step at a time will get you over the mountain. The TOPS way is a "life-saving adventure" according to many of the members of the Windham chapter.

If you are looking for a proven plan for weight loss, at a cost of less than $100 a year, please come and check out what TOPS is all about. TOPS ME #0092, Windham, meets every Tuesday at 5 p.m. for weighing in, and 6 p.m. for a meeting.
