Turkey tech: Apps to help make it through the feast - By Philip Oliveira

The food. Quality time with friends and family. The all-‐day football. There are plenty of reasons to be thankful Thanksgiving is coming up soon.

But for all its fun, planning the perfect Turkey Day has its stresses. That’s why AT&T recently highlighted some great mobile apps that will help make your Thanksgiving perfect.

Let’s consider some of the major aspects of Thanksgiving weekend: Family, food,
football and, of course, Black Friday shopping.

Family:

Thanksgiving is an opportunity to connect with your family and friends over a delicious meal. You can capture moments from your holiday with the 23 Snaps app, which allows you to collect photos and videos of your special day and store them in an easy-‐to-‐share album. Plus, for some added fun, download the Thanksgiving  Frames app ($1.99) and give your photos some seasonal flair.

Food:

Step one to hosting any Thanksgiving party is, of course, preparing the feast. With the Allrecipes Dinner Spinner app, you can search for professional recipes to make everything from turkey to stuffed artichokes (if you like that sort of thing). And for you first-‐timers, don’t worry: You can log into the Cookpad Recipes app to check out easy step-‐by-‐step recipes other people have posted. Both of those apps are available on iOS and Android.

Football:

Once Santa Claus makes his way through the Thanksgiving Day Parade late
Thursday morning, televisions across America turn over to football, and they stay there for hours. If you’re the kind of fan that needs to see every play, download the NFL Mobile app to get live game scores, in-‐game highlights and the latest news
about your favorite team. You should spend some time bonding with your family and friends, but nobody will blame you if you take a quick peek at the score in between courses.

Black Friday:

If you’re an avid Black Friday shopper, you know you won’t be getting a lot of rest
on Thanksgiving night. But if you download the  Black Friday 2014 Ads app, you’ll at least be able to efficiently plan your shopping spree. With this app, you can search store-‐by-‐store for deals, coupons, sales events and the latest news. Or you could

always just stay at home with the Amazon app, which lets you search deals and read reviews of the latest products on your wish list.
