On Sunday, February 28th, Smitty's Cinemas of Windham
(along with other Smitty’s locations) held a red carpet Oscar viewing party. Customers
arrived to walk the red carpet dressed in their finest.
Miss Maine was also
present to add to the special atmosphere. The evening's event included a drive
to collect formal wear for The Maine Event Prom Project, a Bridgton based non-profit
organization that runs a dress and gown boutique for low and moderate income
Maine families. Sixty-seven dresses and gowns and six pairs of formal shoes
were collected to help local students attend prom. To donate your current,
gently used formal wear, or to inquire about receiving formal wear for a
