Student of the week - Evey Merriam

The Windham Eagle student of the week is 11-year-old Evey Merriam, a fifth grader at Jordan-Small Middle School. Evey would like to be the first woman President of the United States or “someone who helps bring peace to our country,” she said.

Her hobbies are dancing, art and reading.

“Best described as effervescent and delightful to be around, Evey is an amazing student!  According to those who nominated her, ‘Evey is always there for me if I need anything and is always there for anyone.’  Another student remarked, "Evey is always on task.  She is friendly to everyone.  Evey likes to make goals on her work and she works hard to reach them.’ Evey enjoys reading.  Her favorite book is “The BFG.” Her two favorite classes are reading and science. She prefers playing outside and with her friends.  One of her favorite foods is crepes with Nutella and bananas.  She also enjoys Girl Scout Cookie ice cream.”

“Education is important because it’s what helps prepare us for the future,” Evey said. I like school because it’s the place where people help improve my knowledge.

Evey lives with her mom and dad and her sister, Avella.
