The second annual Trunk or Treat Halloween Adventure hosted 400 ghoulish guests and two winners


The second annual Trunk or Treat Halloween Adventure hosted by the Windham Parks and Recreation on Saturday, October 28 recently announced the Trunk or Treat winners. Of the 22 trunks that competed for the win, the Family/Individual winner was awarded to Caleb and Nicholas Davenport and the Best Business Trunk went to Tricia Zwirner of State Farm Insurance.


An estimated 400 people attended this year’s Halloween Adventure and volunteers assisted with the success of the event. “The terrific volunteer support that really made the whole event possible included the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee, the Lions Club, St. Joseph’s College SEAM, Windham High School Key Club, and many other WHS students as well as parents and a volunteer from the Windham Public Library,” stated Sarah Davenport, Recreational Programmer.

Local businesses also donated prizes and supplies as well as hosted trunks. Those business included: Aroma Joe’s, Microtel Inn & Suites, Shaw’s, Smitty’s Cinema, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Edward Jones, Gorham Savings Bank, Life Counseling, Mickey Travels, R&S Computer Consulting, and Tricia Zwirner State Farm.

The evening events consisted of the annual costume contest, crafts, refreshments, games and dancing, as well as a haunted locker room, planned and hosted by the high school students. “It was a great event,” exclaimed Davenport.
