Veterans serve up dinner and a good time by Michelle Libby

The VFW Post 10643 in Windham held its annual chili challenge and silent auction at the beginning of March. Many competitors brought their best dishes to be judged by Jose Chavez of Al La Mexicana. Beth Burke took home the top honor. 2nd Meghan Wilson, and 3rd Charlie Tufts.  VFW member Bob Akins watches closely as Chavez tastes each chili offering.

Green was the color of the day when The American Legion Post 148 in Windham held its annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner last Saturday. The turnout was fabulous with every seat occupied. Veteran Dana Reed and his Uke group entertained the guests with music played on ukuleles.
