Stay-at-home mom Julie Frost felt she could use some sprucing up so she answered the call for willing participants for our latest makeover. Frost went to Chic Boutique, 889 Roosevelt Trail for the royal treatment from stylist Sue Montgomery.
“She spent a long time on me,” Frost said. “It was so
awesome.”
Montgomery deepened Julie’s hair color using a warm light
brown to compliment her skin tone, then went back in and did some subtle
hi-lights and low-lights to add dimension. She then used a razor to pick up the
back and add layers and texture. She finished off the look with brow shaping
and a light makeup application.
“I told her she could do anything she wanted to do. I’ve
never been daring, I’m not a daring person,” Frost said. Montgomery changed the
color and gave her highlights, Frost commented. “She was worried the whole time
I wasn’t going to like it, but I love it.”
With some like makeup, a new experience for Frost who
doesn’t wear much, and some eyebrow work, the makeover was complete.
“I really looked different. It’s like an adult haircut,”
she said.
Frost also took advantage of the offer from Dr. Leslie A.
Elston for teeth whitening. She made an appointment and went right in. They
made impressions of her teeth to make trays custom fit for her mouth.
“She was so good at it. It was so easy,” Frost said of
the hygienist. “They called me within four hours. They were so accommodating,
so nice. They sent me home with the kit.” The process should last for a year,
she said. When she’s ready to do it again, she can buy the bleach from Elston.
“It was a special afternoon. I’ve never had it all about
me,” she said. She hoped she’d get dinner from her husband out of it, but alas
she didn’t. He liked it though, she said.
Her two children, Jacob, 15, and Rachel, 12, also liked
the new mom.
“It gave me the opportunity to make a change that I
wouldn’t dare to do on my own,” she concluded.
