Royal River consists of 35 women of varied backgrounds
and professions, united by a love of singing and performing. Its members come
from six counties in southern, central and mid-coast Maine. Under the
direction of Chris Ferguson, the Royal River Chorus is a chapter of Sweet
Adelines International and is currently celebrating 35 years of entertaining
audiences throughout Southern Maine.
“We are excited to welcome back the Royal River
Chorus to perform at Music with a
Mission” said Dr. Richard Nickerson, Minister of Music for NWUC. “Their
first concert here in 2015 was very well received, and we look forward to
enjoying the energy and excitement of the Royal River Chorus.
The Music with a
Mission concert series is sponsored by the North Windham Union Church,
which donates a portion of the proceeds to area non-profits. Now in our
sixth season, MWAM has provided over $54,000 for mission support to the church
and other community organizations.
The community proceeds from this concert will help Windham Raymond
Backpack Program
in their efforts to provide food to 150 students in three elementary schools
each weekend of the school year giving balanced meals for the food insecure.
Tickets will be sold at the door ($12 adults, $10
seniors/students). The box office opens at 6:00 pm. The North Windham
Union Church is located at 723 Roosevelt Trail in Windham. For more
information please call 892-7149 or email MWAMconcerts@gmail.com.
