Come hear the Lake Region Community Chorus (LRCC) as they celebrate spring through joyful songs at their fifth annual spring concert, “Blue Skies - A Choral Celebration.”
The
52 members of the chorus have come together each week, from 14 towns in and
surrounding the Lake Region that include Windham and Raymond communities, to
prepare for the upcoming concert.
A
great variety of musical styles, from classical to popular music, are in store
for the event and for your listening pleasure.
This
spring’s medleys will include selections by composers including: Vivaldi,
Irving Berlin, William L. Dawson, Cat Stevens, The Beatles and more.
The
concerts are scheduled for Friday, May 19 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 21 at 3 p.m.
and will be held at the Twitchell Chapel at the Bridgton Academy in North
Bridgton. The concerts are open to all.
Donations are graciously accepted to help cover operating costs.
The
LRCC is made up entirely of volunteers who are extremely grateful for the help
and support they have received from local businesses, patrons and enthusiastic
audiences. The LRCC would especially
like to thank Bridgton Academy for providing them with a wonderful rehearsal
space and concert venue.
Jan
Jukkola, Susan Stockwell and Dan Allen are the volunteer directors, while
Carolyn Stanhope, Sara-Sue Schreiber and Nancy Capone accompany the group. The
chorus welcomes back percussionists, Rusty Wiltjer and Mark Priola, Zachary
Gray on trumpet as well as violinist Alex Ricks. Sam Schuth, Ann Stepp, and
Linda McVety will join Alex Ricks to accompany the selections from Vivaldi’s
“Gloria”.
Don’t
miss the LRCC’s spring’s concert! You will hear a variety of beautiful pieces
and leave carrying the gift of joyous music in your heart.
