To honor September 11, 2016, The Windham Eagle
organized an advertising campaign with each ad sold donating a portion to
Veterans, Inc. - Maine. The fundraising efforts raised $260 to be sent to their
Lewiston headquarters to benefit local veterans.
Veterans Inc. is New England’s leading provider of
support services to veterans and their families. A 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, the
organization’s mission is to help veterans re-gain control of their lives so
they can eliminate homelessness among veterans. Veterans Inc. has a residential
facility in Lewiston which houses veterans who otherwise might be homeless and
helps them with employment, training and support services. They also have
mobile outreach and services at offices in both Lewiston and Portland.
“The Veterans Inc. Maine team provides homeless
veterans and veterans who are at risk of becoming homeless with transitional
housing, assistance accessing permanent housing, counseling, case management,
