This March marks the 24th year for the annual
Maine Orff Festival of Music. Third and
fourth grade students from Raymond and Windham met at the Windham Primary
School. Music students spent the day
singing, dancing and playing instruments; culminating with a 2 p.m. concert
showing what they had learned. Nancy
Cash-Cobb, Patricia Gordan and Charles Oehrtmann, (Windham/Raymond Schools’ music
teachers) hosted the festival. The Orff
approach to music education stresses the development of each individual
student’s musicality through active learning.
