Student of the week - Emma Fletcher

The Windham Eagle student of the week is Emma Fletcher, a 7-year-old at Raymond Elementary School in Kim Weeks’ first grade class.

Emma lives with her mom Lori and her dad David along with her 9-year-old brother Ethan. She has a dog named Kipper along with a goose and 11 chickens and two fish.

It’s no surprise that she would like to be a veterinarian someday. She likes reading, dancing, playing soccer, swimming, playing with her dog and her brother, knitting and doing crafts.

“Emma is a great example of a responsible student who takes the initiative to advance her learning in a student-centered environment.  She is a dedicated student who works to the best of her ability every single day.  Her peers feel Emma is a great friend who is nice, very helpful and kind. She is always willing to lend a helping hand when needed,” said Mrs. Weeks.

“Learning is fun when you have choices of books you can read and choices with spelling activities.  I like learning with my friends and sharing ideas with them,” said Emma.

“I have been lucky to have two amazing teachers at RES.  My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Allen, and now my first grade teacher, Mrs. Weeks!  They are both fantastic and I can’t pick who has meant the most to me,” said Emma. The most important thing in her life is her family. “My family is most important to me. They help me to learn to be the best person I can be,” she added.
