Local church raises money for school children in Haiti

St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Windham has partnered with St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Treille, Haiti.  Over the last 3 years there has been a drought in Haiti which has affected the farmers in Treille.  This has impacted parents’ ability to pay for their children’s school tuition, uniforms and school supplies.  There is no public education in Treille.

St. Ann's is raising money to provide scholarships for students in Treille whose families have been impacted by the drought.  We hope to raise $8,000 to provide financial support to these families in need.  It has been said that education is the way out of poverty for these children.  Rev. Andre Wildaine, priest in charge of St. Barnabas, is meeting with the St. Ann’s Vestry to prioritize the greatest need.

Please consider supporting them in this ministry by praying for the community of Treille and by offering financial support by donating to the scholarship fund.  The Go Fund Me website is https://www.gofundme.com/5krfzdr8 and you can donate on that site or send a check to St. Ann's Episcopal Church, PO Box 911, Windham, ME 04062.  Please mark it for Haiti Scholarships.
